safety-rails-2017.jpgOne of the reasons why we maintain a very good safety record is because the safety program is fostered by the upper management of the company, implemented by the Safety Committee, enforced by the managers and overseen by the Safety Director.

All roofing projects have a job-specific Fall Protect Plan that clearly defines the fall protection measures to be used and any other potential hazards and the means to avoid them.

Double ‘D’ Roofing’s Safety Committee members and the Safety Director conduct frequent and thorough onsite roof safety inspections; taking immediate corrective action if needed and recording the inspection for review at the Safety Committee meetings. The Safety Committee uses the information from the roof inspection reports to determine future safety training and rectifying any deficiencies.

Job-specific toolbox talks are conducted with all employees to train, inform, and educate our men of OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and specific hazards related to the particular job they will be on that week.

The men of Double ‘D’ Roofing are also instructed in the following:

  • New employee “Pre-Roof” training with Safety Monitor video

  • CPR and First Aid certification

  • Fork-Lift Training

  • Aerial-lift Training

  • Certified Crane Riggers & Hand-Signalers

  • OSHA 10-hours training course

  • Gradall/ (Skid-loader) operator training

  • Fire Extinguisher Training

  • DOT testing and physical examination

  • Shop-Wide boom lift training and certification

  • Drug and Alcohol Awareness training

  • Fall Protection video training/test and certification

  • Global Harmonized System (GHS) Hazardous Chemical Recognition Labeling

  • Emergency Planning Training

That's why safety is and always will be #1 at Double 'D' Roofing.
